Sound Baths & Mindful Music
A Sound Bath is a way to access a moment of peace and rest, an opportunity to gather in community, a space for healing.

SOUND BATHS
Q: What is a sound bath?
A: A sound bath is a full-body listening experience using instruments like crystal singing bowls, gong, chimes, and ocean drum to create tones and vibrations that can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support well-being.
Rather than requiring a certain posture, gaze, or mantra, a sound bath simply invites you to listen. Each sound exists only in the moment it’s created, drawing you naturally into the present and fostering mindfulness.
Q: What should I expect at your sound baths?
A: My lifetime of musical experience, combined with my work as a psychotherapist and mindfulness coach, shapes the way I play—melodic, intuitive, and trauma-informed—to create a safe, nourishing space for rest and renewal.
Sound baths typically last 45-60 minutes, but the length and format depends on the specific program you attend. You’re welcome to bring a yoga mat, blanket, and pillow to enhance your experience.
Music and mindfulness are both transcendent experiences that can lift the practitioner from the narrow constraints of identity.
You can lose yourself in music
just as you can let go of yourself in meditation.

MINDFUL MUSIC
Mindful music refers to music that is intentionally used to support mindfulness, relaxation, and/or reflection. This type of music is often characterized by its calming, soothing, and gentle qualities. Lyrical themes may include nature, relationships, mental health, kindness, compassion, peace, gratitude, and joy.
I perform original and cover mindful music in venues such as:
Hospice and hospitals
Wedding ceremonies
Memorial services
Yoga classes
Churches
Retreats
Contemplative music by artists such as Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, John Denver and others inspires me, and I enjoy performing a wide selection of mindful cover songs.

There aren't enough words to describe the magical, nurturing energy of Katy Oberle. I've been to many sound baths over the years but Katy's was just as beautiful as her soul! Her grounded and caring energy made for a gorgeous meditation. Highly recommend attending one of Katy's workshops/classes or sound baths.

The Sound Bath experience with Katy was so relaxing and peaceful. What a gift to give yourself time and space to just be. I even had my pet hedgehog with me and he was calm and relaxed through the whole session. In a busy world that doesn’t like the idea of slowing down, this intentionally calming environment is ideal for anyone who feels wound too tight. It could be a great team-building opportunity to give people the chance to bond while being quiet. Katy allows for freedom of movement on your yoga mat and keeps her crystal bowls and chimes echoing to set a contemplative mood for all.

Katy Oberle's Winter Solstice Sound Bath was an oasis of tranquility and relaxation amidst the hectic holiday hustle. Katy’s singing bowls truly enveloped me in a peaceful 'sound bath', elevating my spirits and offering profound insights into the ephemeral nature of life. I left feeling remarkably lighter and buoyant.
